This past winter break, I went on a pro-Israel advocacy training trip called Hasbara Fellowships. We visited Save a Child’s Heart, Israel’s #1 Humanitarian Organization. Save a Child’s Heart’s mission is to provide children from 3rd world countries life saving heart surgeries free of charge. I fell in love with this organization, and I decided to host a fundraiser with CSUSM Hillel for this amazing cause. On February 13 and 14, we sold valentines, cupcakes, coffee, and candy and raised $230 for this great cause and brought awareness of the organization to the students at CSUSM. This was such a great experience to be able to organize a fundraiser. In addition, the feeling that I am helping change the lives of children from all over the world made all of the hard work worth it. In the future, I hope to volunteer at Save a Child’s Heart in Israel!
