Mi Casa Es Su Casa (My Home is Your Home)

Hillel is a safe home away from home for thousands of students. But what happens when they leave college?

At Hillel, we are planning for every single student’s Jewish future. The goal is for when students leave Hillel, they know they will be volunteering at Jewish Family Service (JFS), they will participate in leadership programs at Federation, they will send their children to preschool at the JCC, sleepaway camp at Camp Mountain Chai, and they will know what synagogue they will join as members. The goal is for the next generation to have the tools and resources to live Jewishly as adults in our community.

And we’re seeing it in action. We have many Hillel alumni on boards at our synagogues and organizations, making Jewish homes, and connecting with Jewish community. We are the foundation for a lifelong Jewish journey. So when you give to Hillel of San Diego, you really are investing in our collective Jewish future.

This past weekend and into the next two weeks we have had the joy and privilege of meeting so many families at our Family Weekend events. From getting to shake the lulav and etrog under one of our FOUR sukkahs to posing for family photos, it has been great bringing our parents, grandparents, and siblings into the Hillel family. Because it is a family. Once you’re a part of Hillel, we will be with you and your family for life- cheering you on, supporting your growth as you navigate your future, and celebrating your successes. It’s what you, as a supporter of Hillel, make possible.

Hillel of San Diego is kind of like a forever sukkah- open on all sides to invite everyone in, welcoming to everyone, a safe space to gather and rejoice, and a place to nourish the hearts, minds, and spirits of all who join us.

May the rest of your Sukkot be filled with joy and we hope to see you come by our sukkah this week (you have your pick of our FOUR at all of our campuses!).

We’re excited to announce a new opportunity…just in time for Purim! Our goal is to raise $10,000 by Thursday, March 13 so we can fund massive Purim and Passover celebrations on all our campuses! Our plans will bring hundreds of Jewish students to celebrate, be in community, and create the Jewish experiences THEY want. Can you help us get there?
