Watching nearly 300 students schmooze, eat, laugh, and celebrate the beginning of the school year at Hillel of San Diego’s Welcome Back BBQ was pretty much on brand for how we do things. BIG! BOLD! FUN! CONNECTED!
It has been such a joyful week where students were empowered to lead remarkable Jewish experiences on campus.
Thanks for following along as we continue our Peace in Israel Week at UCSD.
And this is what happens when you empower student leaders and center Jewish joy.
Yesterday launched our annual Peace in Israel Week at UCSD. This week takes a year of student planning and demonstrates the power of student leadership.
“Studying Torah at Hillel was a great opportunity to meet a wide variety of Jewish graduate students, experience some of the diversity within Judaism, and develop strong, trusting relationships.” – Sam, UCSD Class of 2025
“Hillel gave me a platform through Tritons for Israel. I spoke at student government meetings and wrote three articles. Hillel made that possible.” – Ellia, UCSD Class of 2025
“Through Hillel, I found a Jewish community of people my age where real connection came naturally—and where friendships felt deep, genuine, and lasting.” – Ava, USD Class of 2025
Students, parents, alumni, and friends — we look forward to getting to know you! Sign up to get regular updates about Jewish life on campus in San Diego.
